Our 30th Anniversary Appeal got off to a great start on 2 May with a celebration and networking hosted by one of our major supporters, Norton Rose Fulbright LLP at their offices by Tower Bridge in Central London.
Friends, old and new, were treated to delicious canapes and a wonderful anniversary cake!
Patrick Farrell, Partner at Norton Rose, kicked of the evening to welcome everyone and to tell the room why they support us and why others should too. Sophie Kayani, our Chair of the Board of Trustees gave a heartfelt tribute to the charity and talked about her personal journey with her son who is dyspraxic. Finally our wonderful Patron, Jamie Lambert, told the room what it was like growing up with and living with dyspraxia – as a performer, a presenter and as a public speaker. It was emotional at times and at others he had the room in stitches!
The event was aimed at introducing new individuals and companies to the charity with the hope of gaining financial support now and in the future. Everybody had a great time and we hope to see that barometer moving upwards very soon!
We look forward to returning to Norton Rose Fulbright LLP next month as they host our 30th Anniversary Conference on Saturday 23rd June – places are filling fast so secure your place today!
