Michele Lee MBE
Michele was very honoured to be appointed Patron in June 2018.
Michele has been Chair for the Foundation twice – the first time 2000-2004 and then 2012 – 2017. She stepped down as a trustee in 2018 having spent the year as vice chair assisting the new chair into her role.
Michele was honoured to receive an MBE in the New Year’s Honours List 2017 for her services for improving the diagnosis and treatment to children with dyspraxia. She has been involved with the Foundation for over 23 years and is also on the Medical, and Research Panel and recently took over as Editor for the Professional Journal.
Michele is a specialist Paediatric Physiotherapist specialising in children with dyspraxia/DCD. Apart from her professional work, Michele also has personal knowledge of the condition as both her son and husband have dyspraxia.
Dyspraxia Foundation - Ambassadors
Gill Dixon PGCE,MA,BHScHons,RGN.
Gill has enjoyed a long and productive relationship with the Dyspraxia Foundation. She is the Chair of the Education Panel has been both a trustee and vice chair in the past.
Gill has recently been appointed as the Charities first Ambassador, a role that she embraces.
Gill has a background in health (as a nurse) and education (as a lecturer). She is also the author of three books and numerous articles about dyspraxia and importantly is the mother of two sons with the condition. She describes herself as ‘dyspraxic by proxy’ as she always tries to view the world through the eyes of those who perceive it differently. She looks forward to continuing her work with the DF in her new role.
