Dyspraxia Awareness Week 2018: Youth Champions & eBook

Last night, thanks to our long term supporters Norton Rose Fulbright, we hosted an event to close Dyspraxia Awareness Week 2018, we also introduced our new ‘Youth Champions’ and released an eBook written by members of our Youth Group.

The evening was attended by members of the charity, members of our youth group and their guests. Adult Representative, Mark Robinson, gave a inspirating and very humourous talk about his life with Dyspraxia. Then new Dyspraxia Foundation Patron, Michele Lee MBE, formally welcome our new Youth Champions.

We are delighted to introduce, Imogen, Natalie and Tim as our new Youth Champions, they have been selected after applying for the role which was open to all our members of our Dyspraxia Foundation Youth Facebook group we are looking forward to working alongside our new Youth Champions over the next 12 months!

The event also launched a brand new, and free, eBook. Positive Stories all written by members of our Dyspraxia Foundation Youth.

Back at the start of this year, we began to plan a Youth Workshop as part of the 2018 Annual Conference to be held in London on 23rd June.   Our Youth Group were keen to have their own presentations on relevant topics and looked forward to meeting fellow members and others with the condition.  We felt it was important to include some of their positive stories as part of the day to give them the opportunity to share their achievements.

Members were asked to submit their own positive pictures and text to share on a ‘Wall of Achievement’ on display on the day.   This book is a collection of the wonderful and amazing things that some of the youth members submitted and we think it just goes to prove: Anything Is Possible!

We hope you enjoy reading through this book as much as we enjoyed putting it together. You can download (for free) via this link.
