Breaking News! Our confirmed closing speaker will be Actor, writer and comedian Harriet Kemsley. She joins the line up on Saturday, 26th October in Birmingham to talk about living with dyspraxia.
Harriet is an award winning comedian, writer and actress. Recently, she starred in the Viceland reality sitcom Bobby and Harriet: Get Married which she co-created and co-wrote with her husband Bobby Mair, to huge critical acclaim. She also performed on Comedy Central’s Roast Battle, Jo Brand’s Channel 4 series Damned, appeared on the most recent season of Doctor Foster for BBC and is a recurring guest on 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown and 8 Out of 10 Cats.
Harriet’s talked on a stage all over the world – at places like The Sky Cat Laughs Comedy Festival in Kilkenny, Oslo Comedy Festival and Just for Laughs in Montreal. She has also supported some of her heroes on their nationwide tours, like Katherine Ryan, Stephen Merchant and Isy Suttie.
An opportunity to attend an event to follow Dyspraxia Awareness Week in our ‘Year of the Adult’ talking all things dyspraxia from lived experiences to recent survey results, mental health, employment, education and independent living. The aim is to help equip adults with dyspraxia to manage their condition and thrive.
Dr Sally Payne, Trustee and Professional Advisor at the Royal College of Occupational Therapists shares an overview of the results of a national survey around adult diagnosis.
Dr Emma Tremaine (The Dyspraxic Doctor) talking about Dyspraxia: Anxiety, mental health and wellbeing.
Kerry Pace of Diverse Leaners and recent Rising Star Award winner for her work in education and supporting learners with disabilities talks about supporting students with the opportunity to ask questions.
Laurence Turner; Research and Policy Officer at GMB Trade Union talks about the Guide to Dyspraxia in the Workplace as part of the GMB Thinking Differently at Work campaign.
Listen to lived experiences from adults with dyspraxia; Janet Taylor, George McNeilly, Mark Robinson and Daniella Hickey talking about growing up, living and working with the condition, with the opportunity to network and ask questions.
