A rare opportunity has arisen to join the small team in Hitchin, Herts at the Dyspraxia Foundation.
Dyspraxia Foundation Fundraising Coordinator
Based at 8 West Alley, Hitchin, Herts SG5 1EG
35 hours per week, Monday – Friday (9am – 5pm)
Salary: £25K Type of post: Fixed Term for 24 months (potential for extension)
Dyspraxia/DCD is a lifelong developmental coordination disorder affecting around 5% of the population. Children, young people and adults with dyspraxia/DCD experience a range of disadvantages – social, emotional and physical. They are frequently socially isolated and often struggle with everyday tasks.
The Dyspraxia Foundation is a national charity, based in Hitchin that answers more than 10,000 enquiries and distributes more than 20,000 leaflets each year. At the heart of what we do, we want every person living with dyspraxia to be enabled to achieve their full potential in life.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Dyspraxia Foundation. We have achieved so much over the last three decades and aspire to create a sustainable future for our charity by building on our reputation and performance. We want to grow our offering and develop our capabilities, so every donation we receive enables us to achieve that little bit more, from promoting better diagnostic and treatment facilities for those who have dyspraxia, to helping education and health professionals to assist those with dyspraxia/DCD, to doing all we can to promote awareness and understanding of dyspraxia/DCD throughout society. We are a forward-thinking charity who seek to involve service users in all that we do, so fundraising has a pivotal role to play in the future of the Dyspraxia Foundation. We are currently recruiting for a Fundraising Coordinator.
The successful candidate will take on a variety of responsibilities including managing and expanding our diverse portfolio of fundraising initiatives, featuring grant and trusts applications, regular giving schemes, community fundraising, as well as identifying new opportunities for corporate engagement, and continually developing existing relationships, thus helping to secure the Dyspraxia Foundation’s long-term financial sustainability.
The post-holder will need a proven track record of fundraising success and excellent communication, organisational, time management and planning skills. It is very important that they are able to inspire others, engaging and connecting them to our cause.
