Dyspraxia Foundation welcomes two new trustees

Press Release – New Trustees

The Dyspraxia Foundation is delighted to welcome two new Trustees to our Board, Laurence Turner and Jake Hobson.   Both Laurence and Jake have dyspraxia.

Laurence will be responsible for overseeing Public Affairs and supporting the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Dyspraxia.

Laurence currently works in the Research and Policy Department of the GMB Union, having previously worked as parliamentary assistant and then as a shadow cabinet political adviser in Westminster. He will support the work of the APPG to raise awareness of dyspraxia at a time when the Government is reviewing its policies in schools and more widely.

One of our values at The Dyspraxia Foundation is ‘inclusion’ and to support us with this, Jake will be responsible for Inclusion and Diversity, working closely with the other Trustees.

Jake currently works at CBRE as Diversity, Inclusion and Responsible Business Manager, leading Diversity and Inclusion for employees across the UK.

This involves developing and driving CBRE’s D&I strategy through a broad stakeholder group focused on employee experience, embedding the core principles of inclusiveness in all of CBRE’s processes, across our entire organization, so that D&I is part of everything they do and building the skills of all their people, at every level of the organization, to collaborate and lead inclusively.

Both Laurence and Jake have both helped shape our Year of the Adult, particularly looking at access to employment.  Laurence spoke at our hugely successful Adult Conference in Birmingham and Jake has held two online webinars for the Dyspraxia Foundation, to name a few.

We look forward to their input and support over the next couple of years.
